Close. Three of the four Meters did play, but the drummer was Herman the German.

Allen Toussaint (producer) liked having Herman on pop sessions. Dwight Richards explains, “He gave them a groove that appealed to the masses instead of that purely New Orleans funk thing you could only understand if you drink our water.”1
